Mid-day Extra: More from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

Marketplace Staff Feb 9, 2012

Los Angeles Mayor Antionio Villaraigosa says one of the biggest challenges for people in Los Angeles is having to deal with traffic.

On building more public transportation in L.A., Villaraigosa says: “It will be unique to Los Angeles. It won’t be unique to New York, Chicago, San Francisco. But yes, doubling the size of the rail system will get you all over this county. And that’s what we’re trying to do here.”

Listen to the interview to hear what Villaraigosa has to say about what his favorite place in Los Angeles is, why the city has a bad reputation in parts of the country, and the biggest economic challenge for L.A. going forward.
