Microsoft announced that everyone’s favorite first email program is coming out with new filtering options. In the era of daily deals and having to give up your email address for just about any site you visit, you might find your inbox filled with messages that you don’t want to read but aren’t quite spam. Microsoft is calling these emails “graymail” and adding filters that help your Hotmail inbox be less cluttered. You can probably do most of what this feature offers with a little tinkering of your email client’s manual filters, but it’s still a helpful feature. One especially nifty trick is the unsubscribe option. If you want to get off a mailing list, you can do so without having to go to the senders website.
Sorry, I think we buried the lede on this item. Let’s fix that: Hotmail still exists!
