Ellen DeGeneres signs Greyson Chance to new record label

Melissa Kaplan May 27, 2010

Greyson Chance’s cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” made him a YouTube sensation when he posted his performance two weeks ago. Now, the 12-year-old boy from Oklahoma has a record deal with Ellen DeGeneres, who is starting her own label. The singer garners some comparisons to Justin Bieber and has two managers: one handles Madonna, the other handles Gaga.

According to the blog HitFix, rumors had been floating that Chance had signed to Interscope. It’s also not DeGerenes’s first go at a label; in the 90’s she chaired a quickly-disappearing venture called Soda Jerk, an Atlantic-distributed label.
