For Marketplace Morning Report, Tuesday, September 14, 2010
The big health story today: A Florida judge is hearing arguments over the constitutionality of the new health care law. On the taxes front, Sen. Mitch McConnell says no to compromise on tax cuts. Moving on to jobs — The IMF chief long-term unemployment may lead to social unrest. Internationally, China’s premier vows to be fair to foreign companies, India’s tea farmers see hope in cooperatives, and Cuba plans to eliminate some 500,000 state workers. These are the other stories we covered: The rising price of cotton may hurt you wallet, small businesses are against a law that would require new tax reporting, U.S. trade groups want more relaxed carbon emission rules for airplanes than the EU. And, Chicago is a gabfest. Enough of my talking, or typing, these are the songs we played:
- Sleeping Pill — LunaBuy
- Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangsta — Geto BoysBuy
- Siesta con Susan — Nobody
- In our Nature (Landberg and Skogehall remix) — Jose GonzalezBuy
- Paper Planes (DFA Remix) — M.I.A.Buy
