Bing holds event today

John Moe Oct 13, 2010

The search arm of Microsoft will be announcing some new features to the service. Notably, something to do with Facebook. Facebook execs will be in attendance and there will be “talk about the new directions and future opportunities of search and a demonstration of some new search innovation by Bing.” I suspect this has something to do with anonymized user data being incorporated into Bing so page ranking can be given not just by algorithm but by which pages people “like” the most. If you find better sites, not just better matches, on Bing than you do on Google, it could be good for Bing.
