Sony announces Google TV TVs

John Moe Oct 13, 2010

As expected, Sony rolled out new ways to incorporate Google into your couch potatoizing.

The new Sony televisions (HDTV flat-screens) come in four sizes, and are priced as follows: 24-inch ($600); 32-inch ($800); 40-inch ($1,000); 46-inch ($1,400).

These are the first TVs that have the Google TV functionality built right into the set, not requiring a set top box. They go on sale in Best Buy stores starting on Saturday and it will be interesting to watch how they sell. As we’ve reported, you can hook up your laptop to your TV (if you have a modern TV) and be off and running for the cost of some minor Radio Shack items. So will people pay hundreds more to have the Google built in?
