In an unexpected turn of events today, Britain and France announced their plans to share military costs. Despite a torrid history, Britain and France agreed to sign a treaty to share commanders and aircraft carriers.

Today is election day, and Californians prepare to vote on Prop 19 – a move that could decriminalize marijuana within the state. But Marketplace spoke to one woman who’s carved a special place for herself in the weed economy — as a baker.

Could video games be the next First Amendment controversy? Senator Leland Yee of Calif. think that some video games are too violent, and he wants to impose limits on selling such games to children. The Supreme Court hears the case today.
