Oliver Kreylos is a researcher at UC Davis and he’s turned a Kinect into a sort of 3D camera. He took the camera feed from the Kinect and ran it through a reconstruction tool to make a virtual reality video feed that can be viewed from multiple angles. Hard to explain. Awesome to watch. Especially because it makes everyone look a bit like the characters in A-ha video “Take On Me”.
