Europe was big on today’s show: we looked at the continuing trouble the EU is facing with multiple countries flailing financially, and we heard a story about how Greece’s own debts have affected its status as an NBA-player breeding ground. Unemployment has been riding under 10 percent for a while now — will we ever return to a ‘normal’ 5 percent, or is that just wishful thinking? Australia is getting into the rare earths game, which may be putting China — the current leader — on its toes. We also heard from David Frum and David Braccaccio, about the consequences of taxing the super-rich and about the ever-growing income gap in the U.S., respectively. And here are the songs we played:
- Elevator Headphone – JapancakesBuy
- Basketball Beat – KousihikBuy
- Beautiful Dirty Rich (Instrumental) – Lady Gaga
- Hardgroove – The Rh FactorBuy
- Brain Freeze – Sackcloth FashionBuy
