Hotmail emails vanish

John Moe Jan 3, 2011

Usually the only time I think about Hotmail is when I’m admonishing my wife to drop her clunky old Hotmail account and switch over to something that works like Gmail. She never listens. And she’s not alone. Hotmail is the most popular web-based email client in the world with 360 million active users. But many customers over the weekend reported that their folders were empty, all their emails gone. Microsoft says this didn’t affect everyone and now says the missing emails have been restored. They offered no guidance in what caused the problem or how it was resolved. Sadly, this will not affect my wife’s stubborn insistence on staying on Hotmail.
