For Marketplace Money, Friday, January 7, 2011

This week featured the debut of our new weekly feature, the reincarnate of a Wall Street Journal blog feature called “What’s In Your Wallet.” We asked people to open up their wallets and tell stories about what’s in them. As we’re in the beginning of the year, we talked about budgeting and had tips from bloggers about how to stay fit financially. We had stories about teaching students about personal finance, and what young people are doing today philanthropically. We also had a story from Estonia, where citizens are getting used to using the Euro. And Tess spoke with author Nick Bilton, who talked about not being scared of new technologies, because we’ve been there before. Here are the songs we played:

  • Positive – Sly and the family StoneBuy
  • Addis Ababa – ZafariBuy
  • Ring the Bell – YachtBuy
  • The Equator – TortoiseBuy

There’s a lot happening in the world.  Through it all, Marketplace is here for you.

You rely on Marketplace to break down the world’s events and tell you how it affects you in a fact-based, approachable way. We rely on your financial support to keep making that possible.
