Controversial app pulled from Apple app store

John Moe Mar 23, 2011

The app from Exodus International has been removed from Apple’s app store. Quietly and without explanation. This was the app sponsored by a group that claims it can cure people of homosexuality. An online petition had gathered about 165,000 signatures and the app is gone. The makers of the app complain that they’re misunderstood, saying the app wasn’t built to cure homosexuality, it was just a resource for events and contacts for people who were trying to become formerly gay. Apple has not commented on why it was pulled.
