For Marketplace, Friday, April 1, 2011
On this first day of April, we got the jobs numbers for March, and they were up. Marketplace New York bureau chief Heidi Moore and FT Alphaville’s Cardiff Garcia talked more about it in the weekly wrap, and Christina Romer, former chair of the Council of Economic Advisors, spoke about how the administration needs to focus more on getting the jobs problem fixed. We also had a story on jobs in health care, and the difficulty in getting one. Restaurants are trying to cope with higher food prices, while retailers are offering their own daily deals to compete with companies like Groupon. And are you looking forward to having advertisements on your food? Here are the songs we played:
- Pumped Up Kicks – Foster The PeopleBuy
- What Goes Around…Comes Around – Justin TimberlakeBuy
- Looking Glass – Little DragonBuy
- I (Joe Beats remix) – Andrew Bird
- Things Have Changed – Bob DylanBuy
