Amazon’s “Cloud” software has had two days of service interruption, affecting many of the major companies that rely on the server. Kai spoke to Marketplace’s Steve Henn about the reports that the iPhone and other mobile devices can track and store information about where people have been. Toyota says that full production won’t resume until the end of the year, while other automakers continue on.

Kai also spoke with writer Richard Ford about the new fiction anthology he edited on work. Michigan tries to close its budget gap by changing its tax code. And we had the weekly wrap with Leigh Gallagher from Fortune Magazine and New York bureau chief Heidi Moore, as well as small talk from the Dinner Party Download crew. Here are the songs we played:

  • Midget Submarines – Swell MapsBuy
  • California – DJ QuikBuy
  • Criminal Conversation – James HardwayBuy
  • Selling Records – PregnantBuy
