Verizon LTE network crashes

John Moe Apr 28, 2011

Having a fancy schmancy LTE network is fine, Verizon, but only if the dang thing actually, you know, works. And for a while there it wasn’t. Verizon is in the process of getting its new network back online after it crashed hard Tuesday night and was still down as of late last night. Verizon said the problem has been identified (oh good!) and they are in the process of bringing it back online. Phone calls are not affected. In the mean time, the 3G network (code name: Ol’ Pappy) (not really) was apparently working fine although some new reports are saying it’s having trouble too. Works fine for me. The LTE outage forced a postponement of the Droid Charge phone, originally scheduled to launch today.
