Rumor: Amazon tablet arriving later this year

John Moe May 3, 2011

We need a codename for the alleged impending Amazon tablet computer. Amatablet? Amablet? Tabazon? Yes. Tabazon. Tabazon is supposedly on the way later this year, according to the blog DigiTimes, which always has stories like this. Tabazon will supposedly have an LED display, allowing it to display color. What that means to the lovely low glare experience of the Kindle, I do not know. Tabazon will supposedly run on an Android operating system. In a way, this is catch up to what Barnes & Noble has already done with the Nook Color, which is more or less a very basic tablet computer. But we’ll see if Tabazon is a real tablet computer or a souped up book reader.
