MySpace about to be sold?

John Moe Jun 10, 2011

The once mighty social networking site is about ready to be sold off once again, this time to the chief executive of video game maker Activision Blizzard, Bobby Cotick. Myspace has about 77 million users at last count, making it the #2 social site on the web but given that Facebook has 700 million, it’s not likely to ever return to its bried 2006ish glory. Kara Swisher at All Things D reported on the talks and says the deal would call for Kotick himself, not his company, to acquire Myspace. Myspace has tried to reinvent itself as a music entertainment hub but those efforts are looking about as good as the average Myspace user’s homepage.
