Skype on your TV

John Moe Jun 14, 2011

Comcast announced a deal with Skype yesterday to bring Skype calls to your TV through your cable. All you’ll need is a camera, an adaptor box, and a special remote control through Comcast.

That seems like an awfully high bar when you can just walk over to your computer and do it that way, but whatever. Who am I to judge?

But John, what about the people who don’t HAVE a webcam on their computer? Maybe you shouldn’t judge people.

Yeah, but for the cost of a camera AND adaptor box AND a special remote from Comcast that they’re just going to lose anyway, couldn’t they just upgrade their computer?

You’re right, John. I’m sorry to have been so harsh.

Apology accepted, Also Me.

The deal was announced ahead of the annual National Cable and TV Association conference which kicks off today.
