Myspace to lay off 150 people

John Moe Jun 28, 2011

If that was Microsoft or Google, you wouldn’t think twice about it. But Myspace only has about 400 employees as of today and by end of day tomorrow it will be around 250. We’ve made fun of the formerly hot social network in the past, which now seems like kind of a jerk move on our part. But it might be a good time to do a deeper dive into just what went so wrong for a company that owned social media at a time when Facebook was just this thing Harvard kids were dinking around on. Meanwhile, there is speculation that the company will be sold but no one knows to whom. I’ll have a jar on my desk if anyone wants to pitch in. See? I did it again.
