No more pornoscanners!

John Moe Jul 21, 2011

On Wednesday, the Transportation Security Administration told the world that it’s going to phase out scanning your nakedness. These scanners which attempted to show objects hidden under your clothes came under serious fire last fall and were dubbed pornoscanners by a number of protesters who didn’t want the TSA so see under their clothes. Thank you technology! From the LA Times: “A software upgrade that the TSA has been testing in airports in Las Vegas, Atlanta and Washington since February would instead create a generic human form (as shown above) and indicate if the scanner detects a hidden object under the clothing. The technology would also show the TSA agents on what part of the body the object has been found.” The LA Times says the new system will be insalled in airports “in the coming months.”
