London: Pay up Mr. President

Jeremy Hobson Jul 22, 2011

President Obama owes the city of London $193.

Last time the Mr. Obama visited the British capitol, back in May, his limo — nicknamed the Beast — never paid the $16 congestion fee to drive into the city center, London’s Sun newspaper reported this week.

At the time, London’s mayor reportedly told the president about the congestion fee — but was never given payment.

The president’s not alone though in disregarding the fee. According to the paper, American diplomats there have racked up more than $8 million worth of fines since the congestion fees were introduced in 2003.
