That’s at Best Buy if you buy a $1500 46-inch 3D TV. They toss in a Galaxy Tab for free. Best Buy says this is more a promotion for the 3D TV than it is a dumping of Galaxy Tabs but it might be kind of a combo deal. 3D TV has obviously been something of a flop and a deal like this might let Best Buy make a little money and get some of this stuff out the door. Still, coming on the heels of a high profile tablet flop like the TouchPad, one can’t help but see this as an illustration of how bleak the tablet market is if you’re not Apple.
The Wall Street Journal adds this nugget to this story:
Tablets from Motorola and Research in Motion are also suffering from meager sales.
Meanwhile, Apple has shipped 28.7 million iPads since April 2010. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that the company said that it is having difficulty keeping up with demand.
Honestly, it’s getting hard to imagine buying another kind of tablet right now and having a lot of confidence that it will be well supported with app development and technical assistance in the long run.
