HP not setting webOS on fire yet

John Moe Sep 7, 2011

After HP announced it would get rid of its hardware devices – the HP TouchPad and its mobile devices, Ars Technica reports the company is splitting its webOS software into its Office of Strategy and Technology, which could mean the company has some future plans for the operating system.

What would those plans be? Who knows. There’s been talking of selling it for a while but it’s awfully murky who would buy it and for what. Could the odd success of the post-cancellation TouchPad be making HP change its mind about mobile? One wouldn’t think so but my doctor says I need to stop trying to figure out HP anymore.
