Patents, the tech stocks of tech companies

John Moe Sep 8, 2011

HTC, the fifth largest smartphone maker (George Martin… Billy Preston… Brian Epstein?), has amended an existing lawsuit against Apple claiming more copyright infringement. HTC acquired patents from Google just last week, which enabled the amendment. Apple, of course, is already suing HTC making similar claims. It’s the same thing with Googarola – Google gets all Motorola’s patents, protects itself and can go on the hunt to sue other companies.
Good times for tech lawyers these days.
