Google Maps: Cartographer’s Revenge!

John Moe Sep 13, 2011

No, that’s not a movie title, and you’re welcome for never having to sit through it (although it might have a few… points of interest). Google map maker started in 2008 and lets people submit updates and edits to what’s currently seen on Google maps. Problem is that so many people have submitted edits that Google staffers, who have to review and approve each edit, are way backlogged. Enter you, a modern day Amerigo Vespucci. The Googs has called on active mapping users to become Regional Expert Reviewers, who will have the ability to approve edits. Soon, hopefully, mother will be directed to my house instead of the McDonald’s down the street when she plugs my address in. Still, mother does like her quarter pounders.
