This fashion could save your life

Marc Sanchez Sep 23, 2011

Mother loves to ride her bike, but she can’t stand the helmet-head she gets while protecting her noggin. The solution: Hövding. Fashion designers Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin created Hövding, which is essentially equal parts bike helmet, large turtleneck-type collar, and air bag. The helmet/air bag stays tucked in your collar and gets released in an accident. Kling post reports the, “release mechanism is controlled by sensors that register abnormal movements of the rider in an accident.” When switched on, the sensors constantly record 10 seconds’ worth of data, which could ultimately have another purpose in lawsuits resulting from accidents.
