Oh poor webOS. It roams the earth like a zombie. Not really alive anymore but not fully dead either. The mobile platform acquired by HP has been on ice since HP’s decision a few months back to get out of the mobile market. Now, new CEO Meg Whitman says a decision on webOS’s fate will be made within two weeks. I got a hunch they find a way to revive it. A lot of people like it, they can save face by using a resource they own, and they can bring it back around without doing a full expensive dive into devices.
Whitman also said that if iPads count as PCs, she expects Apple to overtake HP as the number one producer of PCs but that she’ll try to win the title back. With…what exactly? I don’t know. TouchPads?
