Hulu rolls out facial recognition

John Moe Dec 8, 2011

My wife has this amazing talent: when we’re watching a movie or TV show, she can pick out the actors and tell what else she’s seen them in. Not just stars, mind you, really obscure bit players and character actors from movies 20 years ago. We pull up IMDB and she’s right. Always. It’s creepy.

Now she’s being replaced by a computer. Sorry, honey. Hulu’s lab is trying out a facial recognition program where you can click on an actor’s face and get a pop up of their Wikipedia entry so you can learn more about them and find their big roles.
