Samsung has added four new complaints in its ongoing patent war against Apple in Germany. The new claims have something to do with voice commands and, weirdly, emoticons. So it has come to this. Emoticons. This latest salvo in the ongoing war between these companies now involves, like, smiley faces made out of colons and close parentheses. Just what is the gripe about these emoticons? I don’t know. Does it matter? Not sure it does. Look, plenty of companies have competed against each other in pitched battle over the centuries but this is high tech warfare aimed at preventing the competitor from even selling its products. And it involves emoticons!
