Final Note

Obama to accept presidential nomination in Charlotte

Kai Ryssdal Jan 17, 2012

This final note today, in which one wonders whether the president’s re-election staff has been reading the papers the past three years.

The Democratic National Committee announced today that Mr. Obama is going to give his nomination acceptance speech in the big football stadium in Charlotte, N.C. That’s where the convention’s going to be — in Charlotte.

The stadium is the home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. Seventy-four thousand of the party faithful will gather in — wait for it — Bank of America stadium.
