Kai Ryssdal: All right, welcome back to PAC Name Fever, I’m your host, Kai Ryssdal. It’s the 8th of February today. And this is the game show where we name the super PAC, you decide if it’s real.

Winning the Future is a real one; Restore Our Future is another real one. But come on, those are the easy ones. Our contestants today in the first — and perhaps the last — edition in PAC Name Fever are here in the studio with me. Everybody ready?

All right, here we go, question number one: Is this is a super PAC or the name of the winner of my fantasy football team? Joe Six-Pack.

Betsy Streisand: Oh!

Ryssdal: Oh what?

Streisand: The name of your fantasy football team.

Ryssdal: Sadly no! It’s a super PAC! Angela knew that one, right?

Angela Kim: I knew that one!

Matt Berger: Is he related to Joe the Plumber?

Ryssdal: Different guy, different guy. All right, moving right along. Question number two: Is this a super PAC or the name of a driving school? Turn Right, U.S.A.

Oh yes, Angela Kim, on my left.

Kim: Super PAC.

Ryssdal: That is correct. It is a super PAC. One point for you. Next question: Is this a super PAC or the name of a booster club for the New England Patriots? Patriots Renewal.

Matt Berger?

Berger: I’ll go out on a limb and say that’s a super PAC.

Ryssdal: Sorry, trick question — neither.

Crowd: Oh!

Ryssdal: OK, here we go, this one’s my favorite: Is this a Super PAC or the name of a 1970s TV show? Brady Bunch.

Jeff Peters?

Jeff Peters: I’m going to go with super PAC for this one.

Ryssdal: You should have gone with both.

Peters: It’s both?

Ryssdal: Yes, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. I know, right? Here we go: Is this a super PAC or the name of a fan website for the show “The Voice”? Our Voice.

Yes, Jeff Tyler.

Jeff Tyler: Super PAC.

Ryssdal: It is, in fact, yes, a super PAC. Very good, good job.

Streisand: Hey what’s the score?

Ryssdal: You know, we called Karl Cassell to be our official judge and scorekeeper — busy today. Couldn’t do it. Nancy Farghalli, our elections editor, is going to step in.

Nancy Farghalli: Well Kai, it appears that Team A, led by Angela Kim, is leading 2-0.

Ryssdal: All right, this is it, for all the marbles, the championship of the free world if you will, last question: Is this a super PAC or the name of a Star Wars movie? New Hope.

Sylvester Monroe: Oh that’s easy.

Ryssdal: Sylvester, go ahead.

Monroe: That’s a super PAC.

Ryssdal: It is in fact a super PAC; the name of the movie is “A New Hope.”

Streisand: Way to go!

Ryssdal: Right? Team spirit.

Crowd: Boo.

Ryssdal: Hey hey hey, be collegial. And that makes Team A the winner by one point. Contestants, thank you very much for coming. The winner gets Nancy Farghalli’s voice on their home answering machine. And don’t forget to join us next week, for another edition of PAC Name Fever!
