Gone sailin’: Larry Ellison chooses America’s Cup over Oracle
This final note on the way out, prompted by this line I saw crawling across the bottom of the screen on Bloomberg Television earlier today: “Larry Ellison skips Oracle Open World for America’s Cup Final.”
That is, a highly paid corporate CEO skipped the premier conference for his company’s products, so he could go sailing in San Francisco Bay.
It turned out all right for him, though.
Ellison’s team capped off an amazing comeback today to win the oldest trophy in sports.
Which is good, because he’s spent a hundred million dollars to do it.
