For our Spring 2020 survey:

The Marketplace-Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans 18 and older. A total of 1,018 respondents were interviewed, with 500 interviews conducted by telephone and 518 interviews conducted online. The interviews were conducted from April 23-28, 2020.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race, income and region of the country.

For our Spring 2019 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans ages 18 years and older. A total of 1,066 respondents were interviewed with 500 interviews conducted by telephone and 566 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 219 were conducted via a landline phone and 281 interviews conducted via a cell phone.

The average length of the telephone interviews was 16 minutes. The interviews were conducted from May 6 – 13, 2019.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race, income and region of the country.

For our fall 2018 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans ages 18 years and older. A total of 1,058 respondents were interviewed with 500 interviews conducted by telephone and 558 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 244 were conducted via a landline phone and 256 interviews conducted via a cell phone. The average length of the telephone interviews was twenty minutes. The interviews were conducted from September 25 – October 1 2018.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race, income and region of the country.

For our winter 2018 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans ages 18 years and older. A total of 1,040 respondents were interviewed with 500 interviews conducted by telephone and 540 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 296 were conducted via a landline phone and 204 interviews conducted via a cell phone.

The average length of the telephone interviews was twenty minutes. The telephone interviews were conducted from February 14 – 19, 2018.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race, income and region of the country.

For our spring 2017 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans 18 and older. A total of 1,044 respondents were interviewed, with 500 interviews conducted by telephone and 544 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 307 were conducted via a landline and 193 interviews conducted via a cell phone.

The average length of the telephone interviews was 20 minutes. The telephone interviews were conducted from April 1-8, 2017.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race, income and region of the country.

For our fall 2016 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans 18 and older. A total of 1,036 respondents were interviewed, with 501 interviews conducted by telephone and 535 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 250 were conducted via a landline and 251 interviews conducted via a cell phone so that we could achieve the proper proportion of coverage of households in the United States that do not have a landline. The landline and cell phone sample of phone numbers and the email addresses for the online survey were provided by Survey Sampling International (SSI).

The average length of the telephone interviews was 19 minutes. The telephone interviews were conducted from Oct. 1-8, 2016.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race and region of the country.

For our summer 2016 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans 18 and older. A total of 1,022 respondents were interviewed, with 501 interviews conducted by telephone and 521 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 301 were conducted via a landline and 200 interviews conducted via a cell phone so that we could achieve the proper proportion of coverage of households in the United States that do not have a landline. The landline and cell phone sample of phone numbers and the email addresses for the online survey were provided by Survey Sampling International (SSI).

The average length of the telephone interviews was 16 minutes. The telephone interviews were conducted from May 18-24, 2016.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race and region of the country.

With a total sample size of 1,022 respondents, the calculated margin of error with a 95 percent confidence interval for results among the entire sample is +/- 3 percent.

The calculated margins of error for results among smaller subgroups are higher.

For our winter 2016 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans 18 and older. A total of 1,012 respondents were interviewed, with 501 interviews conducted by telephone and 512 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 300 were conducted via landline and 201 interviews conducted via cell phone so that we could achieve the proper proportion of coverage of households in the United States that do not have a landline phone. The landline and cell phone sample of phone numbers and the email addresses for the online survey were provided by Survey Sampling International (SSI).

The average length of the telephone interviews was 14 minutes. The telephone interviews were conducted from Feb. 8-17, 2016.

The data was weighted to match the most recent United States population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for age, gender, race and region of the country.

With a total sample size of 1,012 respondents, the calculated margin of error with a 95 percent confidence interval for results among the entire sample is +/- 3 percent. The calculated margins of error for results among smaller subgroups are higher.

The February wave of data is tracked with a previous wave, conducted Sept. 8-18, 2015, in which a total of 1,016 respondents were interviewed (501 conducted by telephone, 515 conducted online). The calculated margin of error for the September wave of data is also +/- 3 percent among the entire sample.

For our fall 2015 survey:

The Marketplace Edison Research Survey is a national survey of Americans ages 18 and older. A total of 1,016 respondents were interviewed, with 501 interviews conducted by telephone and 515 interviews conducted online. Among the telephone interviews, 300 were conducted via landline and 201 interviews conducted via cell phone so that the proper proportion of coverage of households in the United States that do not have a landline would be achieved.

The landline and cell phone sample of phone numbers and the email addresses for the online survey were provided by Survey Sampling International (SSI).

The calculated margins of error for results among smaller subgroups are higher.
