Nilou Shahbandi

SHORT BIO

Niloufar is a former intern based in San Diego, California, who joined Marketplace in 2023.

A graduate of the University of California, San Diego, Nilou worked at her college newspaper, The UCSD Guardian, all through her college years, serving as news editor in her senior year. She received a scholarship for her investigative work at the paper and hopes to pursue reporting and production in the future.

Nilou spends her free time going to the beach, weightlifting or thrifting for used books and clothes. Having several cross-country moves under her belt, she's acquired a love of travel and exploring new places.
