U.S. markets are pointing to another down day, amid worries the downturn the U.S. Federal reserve has engineered might lead to a recession rather than a soft landing. In early trading on this Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Nasdaq Composite Index both fell more than 1,000 points, but recovered some.

The Federal Trade Commission just announced that the agency would investigate whether companies are inflating grocery prices.
