Backlogs hurt the holiday sales season in 2021. In some cases, shops still have to tell customers to wait for their favorite reads.

A record-high percentage of firms are facing supply shortages, the National Association for Business Economics found, and most are passing cost increases om to customers.

“The supply chain for floral is just crazy right now," said Gretchen Culver of Minne Weddings.
