By donating a car to Marketplace, you’ll join the growing community of Marketplace Investors. Marketplace proudly partners with the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program to accept your car, truck, motorcycle, boat or RV donation. When you donate, you’ll receive a tax deduction while supporting your favorite business news provider. Follow these easy steps:
Step 1: Provide Vehicle Information
Fill out the donation form with information about your car donation, including the VIN, year, make, model, mileage and condition.
Step 2: Schedule a Free Pickup
Provide information about yourself and tell us where the car will be picked up. A towing agent will call you within two to three business days to schedule a convenient pickup time, and your car will be towed at no cost to you!
Step 3: Track Your Donation
After you donate the vehicle, you’ll receive a confirmation email with access to your donor console. From your donor console, you can track your donation in real time, submit documents and get title and tax information. After your car is sold, you’ll be emailed a tax-deductible receipt from Car Talk.

What vehicles does Marketplace accept?
We accept running and non-running cars. Donated trucks, motorcycles, boats, RVs and trailers are accepted on a case-by-case basis. You can call 877-215-0227 to check whether your vehicle can be donated.
What can I expect when my vehicle is picked up?
On the day of your scheduled pickup, you will give the keys and signed title to the tow driver. Instructions on how to sign your title will be provided in the confirmation email you receive after submitting the donation form. Your car will be sold and the proceeds returned to Marketplace.
How much money will Marketplace receive from my vehicle donation?
Our partners at Car Talk will return 75% to 80% of the gross selling price back to Marketplace, the highest of any vehicle donation program!
What are the tax benefits of donating a car?
Your car donation may be tax-deductible. If your car sells for over $500, you may deduct the full selling price. If your car sells for $500 or less, you can deduct $500 or your car’s fair market value, whichever is less. Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you will receive an email with a tax receipt that states:
The gross selling price of your car, if sold for more than $500.
Vehicle year, make, model and VIN.
A statement that the vehicle was sold at arms length between two unrelated parties.
A statement that no goods or services were received in return for your donation.
