Secret Santa in the Senate

For the first time ever, U.S. senators are doing a Secret Santa gift exchange.

This final note today. There is hope yet for bipartisanship in the Senate of the United States. For the first time — ever, as far as anyone can tell — senators are going to do a Secret Santa thing this Christmas.

Ten bucks is the price limit. Fifty-eight senators have signed up: 37 Democrats, 21 Republicans. Nobody in the leadership, so far.

It’s not like they’re going to solve the budget deficit, but it’s a nice gesture, no?
